An Intro to The Warrior 2.0 Blog

Life is so incredibly amazing.

WE are so incredibly amazing!

Whether you favor creationism or evolution, we can all agree that the human organism is fascinating. Anatomically modern humans emerged around 300,000 years ago, and like all animals, we were gifted with certain primal instincts that were hard-wired in order for us to survive.

Humans have not only survived for hundreds of thousands of years, but have evolved in almost every aspect of life, from physical ability to technology, social organization, and cultural evolution.

That being said, I believe our technological evolution has brought a significant threat.

Technology has drastically changed the way we live our lives over the past few decades. With the rise of smartphones, social media, and other digital devices, we are more "connected" than ever before. However, this increased connectivity has come at a cost. Key metrics in our society, such as physical health, mental health, and social health, are all declining due to our over-use of technology. And unfortunately this over-use is being driven by one of our core primal and survival instincts... connection.

The reality is, overall, technological evolution is not inherently leading to a decrease in human population health. In fact, advancements in technology have led to many improvements in healthcare, medicine, and overall quality of life for many people around the world.

The problem is our over-use, which is primarily being driven by our own PRIMAL INSTINCTS!! It's like the perfect storm... we're pack animals seeking connection and a sense of belonging, yet we are also always seeking to find easier ways to live our lives via efficiency and comfort. The end result is seeking "connection" the fastest and easiest way possible! What is faster than a few swipes of the thumb?

While we all know this isn't real connection, we can't seem to break ourselves free so easily. On the other hand, technology truly does bring a large amount of benefit to our people. So how to manage it? The truth is... like everything else, the answer lies somewhere in the middle.

As we prepare to fully launch the Warrior2.0 program, our blogs and podcasts will ask pertinent questions and seek answers and solutions that will hopefully give you resources and motivation to make the needed adjustments in your life and the life of those around you.

To me, it's about leaving "our" world a better place than the way we found it and giving the next generation the proper tools to do the same... as the challenges evolve.
