Possible Covid Exposure at GB NOrth Princeton

Hello to all! I hope you are all doing as well as possible.

I need to inform you that two members of our North Princeton staff have tested positive for covid.  Coach Wojtek woke up Wednesday morning with some symptoms and got a rapid test, which came back negative.  He stayed home wednesday, thursday and friday as we was still not feeling great.  Friday, he went and got a PCR test which came back positive this afternoon (saturday).  Once we received that news, those staff members that had direct exposure to him on monday and tuesday got tested.  Coach Veronica was exposed (as she often works as his uke) and did indeed test positive about an hour ago.  As of this morning, she was not experiencing any symptoms.

So, If you were within 6 feet for a cumulative time of 15 minutes with coach Wojtek on Monday or Tuesday

OR

If you were within 6 feet for a cumulative time of 15 minutes with Coach Veronica Thursday, Friday (at the Holiday Party) or this morning, then you are considered to be exposed.

Per the CDC the following is recommended:

If you were exposed (within 6 feet for a cumulative 15 minutes) and are vaccinated, YOU DO NOT NEED TO QUARANTINE.  It is recommended that you monitor for symptoms and try to limit your contact with others for the next week.  During that time it is recommended that you wear a mask when indoors in public.  You should get a pcr test 5-7 days from the last time of exposure.  If that is negative, you can return to regular activities.  Please review the CDC  site for full guidelines.  We ask that if you were exposed, to not return to the academy until you have a negative pcr test (and without symptoms) after 7 days from last exposure or 14 days without symptoms or test.

If you were exposed (within 6 feet for a cumulative 15 minutes) and are unvaccinated, YOU NEED TO QUARANTINE for 14 days.  You can end that quarantine early if you take a pcr test 5-7 days after last exposure and it is negative (and do not have any symptoms).  For the unvaccinated, you should continue to wear a mask indoors in public for the full 14 days.  Please review the CDC site for full guidelines.  We ask that if you were exposed, to not return to the academy until you have a negative test (after 7 days) AND after 14 days from last exposure.

Any other staff members that were exposed will be out until presenting a negative pcr test after 5-7 days.  Myself, Prof Turtle and Coach John were not exposed and will be running a full schedule this week at both Princeton and North Princeton.

As always, we take the health and safety of our students and staff very seriously.  If you have any questions, please text me on my personal cell phone at 646-229-2182.

Thank you.
